Spongelle Boxed Flowers – Perfect Summer Treat and Gift

20150630-IMG_1984

I usually don’t do too many non-makeup-related posts, but I wanted to share this, since I love it so much! This month’s Popsugar Must Have Box included a Spongelle Body Wash Infused Buffer / Boxed Flower in Papaya Yuzu. It smelled absolutely amazing that I bought a few more on the website, going with a Bulgarian Rose and Coconut Verbena one, with a couple more of the Papaya Yuzu. I’ve since given these to my sister and two of my friends, who have all loved the scents. Papaya Yuzu remains my favorite, but my sister prefers the Bulgarian Rose. Other scents include Ginger Bergamot and French Lavender, which I may try after I finish using these. Continue reading “Spongelle Boxed Flowers – Perfect Summer Treat and Gift”

June Ipsy Unboxing

20150614-2015-06-14 20.52.03

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box that Michelle Phan founded. It’s at the lower end of the price spectrum at $10/month. I got my bag a couple days ago, and I wanted to write a quick post on my first impressions!

This month’s theme is “Swim into beauty,” and I think the creme eyeshadow stick and natural sheet masks incorporate nicely into this theme. It would’ve been great to get a cream blush or a waterproof mascara, though! I always like getting masks, so I was happy to get the BioRepublic Sheet Masks. Continue reading “June Ipsy Unboxing”

Birchbox: June 2015

Got my Birchbox in the mail today! Birchbox is a monthly subscription box that costs $10 for a women’s subscription and is delivered monthly. Birchbox is arguably the company that really popularized subscription boxes, and I love it for its points program and flexibility in choosing a sample / curated box per month. I didn’t get the curated box this month. I really love the packaging this week! I’m a little sad I sliced through a bit on the top when I was opening the cardboard packaging. At first, I was wondering if it would be a summer wedding theme, but it’s not. Continue reading “Birchbox June Unboxing”

ColourPop Mondays in Malibu Review + GIVEAWAY!

Colourpop: The Brand

I first heard of Colourpop through reading Christine’s blog, Temptalia, where she reviewed this set. Colourpop is a fairly new brand based in Santa Monica, CA with their products being made in Los Angeles, CA. Their makeup is affordable at $5 per item. To read more about the brand, check out their About Us page. Today I’ll be reviewing their new Limited Edition set, Mondays in Malibu, which is my first purchase from the company. I ordered it with the code THANKSBABE, which took off $5. Their shipping is free above $30, so I’m still kicking myself for not ordering something else to get it there, since I was so close! The set is $30, and shipping is $4.99, so my order came out to $29.99 with the coupon, when I could’ve just ordered another $5 item and have it come out to an even $30 with free shipping. I emailed their customer service but they said that the order couldn’t be changed once placed. I was sad, but it was my own fault. My order also included the Birthday Girl shadow, which was free with each order to celebrate their one-year anniversary. (This is also what I’m giving away!) May 3B Box Review: Hits and Misses

20150601-2015-06-01 18.16.14

Today I’m reviewing May’s 3B Box, a $12/mo. subscription that sends 4-6 Asian beauty samples a month. It usually comes in a nice bag (which I still need to figure out some use for). This is only my second month with this subscription, since I was on the waitlist for what seems like forever. This subscription is like a Korean ipsy to me, since the price points and number of items are similar. Continue reading “May 3B Box Review: Hits and Misses”

Sample-Ready Saturday: Benefit Roller Lash Mascara

2015-05-16 15.12.28

As you all can probably tell, I haven’t been blogging awhile. I recently started a new part-time job as a secretary, and I’m still crazy studying for (hopefully) the last part of my CPA exam. Since my travel plans for this summer fell through, I hope I can refocus my efforts on blogging and reorganizing my makeup stash, since lack of time will no longer be a valid excuse!
