Sample-Ready Saturday: Jouer Matte Moisture Tint Sunscreen

IMG_2041

Saturday is almost over, but I still wanted to get a quick review in for Sample-Ready Saturday. I got this sample of the Jouer in November’s Birchbox in the shade Linen (which was a surprisingly good match for my NC20 skin), but I only had a chance to try it recently.

I was surprised by how much I liked this. The coverage is much better than what I was expecting – on the level of a BB cream, not just a tinted moisturizer. It also does live up to its claim that its matte, but it’s not overly drying. It reminds me of the Smashbox BB cream, but much less grainy/powdery.

The swatch really doesn’t do it justice as to its texture.

The one thing that really disappointed me about this was the SPF level – only 15 SPF and it calls itself a sunscreen?! I would expect at least 30. I probably won’t be following up with a full-size purchase, because there are more BB creams that are just as good with more SPF.

Have you tried this product before? What are your favorite tinted moisturizers/BB creams for the summer?

  1. I am so excited to look through your blog. I am a beauty junkie so I love all the reviews of new products! Can’t wait to try them and follow along.

  2. Hey Whitney, you do make this sound pretty good! There is quite some yellow in the shade, which is always a good thing to see (because my skin tone leans pretty yellow)! SPF 15 isn’t a lot, but I use a separate sunscreen underneath so I guess it’s not that big of a problem.
