Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription box that Michelle Phan founded. It’s at the lower end of the price spectrum at $10/month. I got my bag a couple days ago, and I wanted to write a quick post on my first impressions!
This month’s theme is “Swim into beauty,” and I think the creme eyeshadow stick and natural sheet masks incorporate nicely into this theme. It would’ve been great to get a cream blush or a waterproof mascara, though! I always like getting masks, so I was happy to get the BioRepublic Sheet Masks.
The Smashbox Photo Finish Primer wasn’t a surprise, since it was one of the spoilers for the bag – it’s either this or a Too Faced Melted sample. I already have one of these primer samples (maybe even from an earlier Ipsy bag?) and would’ve loved to get the Melted, but alas… This is a decent primer, but nothing special.
The trèStique Color Stick I didn’t think of much, since I already have a Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in a similar shade. But the packaging is so cute! It might look like it’s uncapped in the picture, but that’s actually what the cap looks like. When I first opened my bag, I fished around in it for a few seconds for the “missing” cap. This is great for someone who might have multiple shades, so they can see right away what shade it is. It looks like the full size version also has a smudger on the other end, which I really like, since it means I don’t have to smudge with my fingers.
I’m not a big lip gloss or liquid lipstick fan, so the J.cat Liptitude 24/7 Hydrating Lip Stain went into the sell pile. The Key West Aloe Mango Lotion smells nice, and I’m a big fan of aloe in skincare, so this went into my body lotion stash for later use!
What did you think of this month’s bag? If you subscribe, what did you get?
