InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask and Retinol Moisturizer Cream Review

Hi all, sorry I haven’t been blogging as much lately. I had so many posts lined up and pictures taken, but I have two finals and the first part of my CPA exam next week, and I’ll be in DC for the whole week the week after for spring break!

Anyways, here’s a review of two products I’ve tried from InstaNatural, the Dead Sea Mud Facial Mask and the Retinol Moisturizer Cream.

The product comes in a jar that was surprisingly big. The second picture shows it with an EOS lip balm for comparison.

The product feels the way it looks. I put a thin layer over my skin per the directions, putting some more around my nose area, since I have more oil there. It feels pleasant after putting it on, cool and a bit stingy, but that goes away, and it tightens up as it dries. This tightening feeling I am NOT a fan of. The face section dried faster, since it was a thinner layer, but the area around my noise took longer, since I put more there. I felt like my face was scrunching up, and I just wanted to wash it off, but I couldn’t because the are around my nose hadn’t dried yet. Lesson learned – do the same level of thickness over the entire face.

Anyways, I survived, and the picture shows how the dry part is a light gray, while the wet part looks like the wet product before application. The directions say to use this only once per week, so I might change my opinion of this the next time I use this, but I do feel like it absorbs the excess oil in the face, although there were no radical changes (my skin had been pretty good anyway when I was using the mask.)

The Retinol Moisturizer I was at first wary to use, since I don’t use retinol often, but it seemed promising, so i decided to try it. I’m a big fan of the packaging, as the pump makes it really easy to use, but the first thing I noticed was the smell, or rather lack of smell. It’s not as big of an issue after application, but it’s not perfumed, and it has a bit of a “raw” smell that’s hard to describe but is also present in some other face creams.

The product feels a bit thick when I first put it on my hands, but I was able to wear it under makeup without getting greasy. I think this would be a great addition to a skincare routine in combination with other products.

  1. I noticed a ton of tightening with this mask too. So bad that my face itched like crazy and I had to wash it off because it was making my eyes water. I like the moisturizer though 🙂 It’s nice and light.
