The packaging feels more high-quality than what I expected – it definitely feels more luxe than a drugstore lipstick, heavier.
Shade: The Sample Society website listed the shade that I received as Abbey Rose, but from the lipstick packaging, it is Axis Rose, which is brighter than Abbey Rose. This is a pretty natural-looking shade but is a bit brighter than your neutral/natural lip color.
Formula: The swatch on the left is just one pass, and the swatch on the right is more built up, which is how I wear it. This lipstick is just so easy to wear, because it can be built up so easily, so you don’t have to worry about the outside lines when you put it on. This formula actually feels similar to Charlotte Tilbury’s K.I.S.S.I.N.G. lipsticks, as they feel firm in the tube and have a bit less slip.
Even though this is a tinted balm, I don’t find this formula all that moisturizing. It’s not completely drying, but if my lips are in a bad place, it doesn’t take them a better place.
All in all, I’m a big fan of the easy application and shade, but I wish it were a bit more moisturizing! Pick this up here. You can use the coupon codes ICEE564 and/or BBSOCIETYDEC14 ($10 off $50 purchase).
